Frames of Mind School: A Legacy of Nurturing Minds and Shaping Hearts. The story of Frames of Mind School is one of faith, vision, and an enduring belief that every child is born with a unique brilliance waiting to be discovered.
It began in 2002, when Mr. and Mrs. Telesforo R. Mercado and Jocelyn D. Mercado, guided by their deep faith in God and their love for children, established the Frames of Mind Learning Center in Jordan Plains 4, Novaliches, Quezon City. Entrusted to the capable hands of their daughter, Ma. Christina D. Mercado, a Montessori preschool teacher and Psychology graduate, the school opened its humble doors with a simple yet profound mission — to create a place where every learner, including those with special needs, could grow in wisdom, confidence, and compassion. Motivated by their passion for education and compassion for children, the Mercado family worked hand in hand, with sons Teejay Norman and Augie Ray serving as the first pillars of support. Together, they built not just a school, but a home for learning — where love, understanding, and purpose shaped each day.
The name Frames of Mind was inspired by Dr. Howard Gardner, the renowned psychologist who introduced the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. His belief that every child learns in diverse yet equally meaningful ways deeply resonated with the founders’ philosophy. For them, intelligence could not be measured by academics alone — it could be expressed through music, art, movement, empathy, logic, or imagination. Guided by this principle, Frames of Mind Learning Center began its journey in a small rented home lovingly transformed into a vibrant space for discovery and growth. In 2004, the school expanded to a second branch in Amityville, Montalban, Rizal — the founders’ hometown. The warm support of the community fueled its growth beyond expectations. From preschool, it gradually opened higher grade levels, one at a time, as parents’ trust and confidence continued to grow.
By 2010, the founders decided to focus entirely on the Montalban branch, which had become the thriving heart of the institution. As the school expanded its academic offerings from Elementary to Senior High School, it proudly adopted the name Frames of Mind School of Rodriguez, symbolizing both its broadened educational scope and its deep roots within the community. Through the passing years, Frames of Mind School has remained steadfast in its guiding philosophy — to develop the Multiple Intelligences of each learner, anchored in values-based education and enriched by 21st-century learning principles. It believes that true education must form the mind, touch the heart, and strengthen the moral compass of every learner. From its humble beginnings, the school has blossomed into a modern educational institution with a committed team of educators and staff who share one purpose: to bring out the best in every learner. From a small converted home, Frames of Mind School now stands proudly in a three-story building, complete with modern classrooms, digital facilities, and specialized learning areas that embody its commitment to excellence and inclusivity.
In 2023, the school took another significant step forward by amending its SEC registration to reflect its growing operations and larger campus — a symbol of its strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to quality education. True to its innovative spirit, Frames of Mind School embraces global learning tools such as Koobits (Singapore Math) and offers diverse programs that nurture the different intelligences of its learners — including Robotics, Taekwondo, Archery, Gymnastics, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Sepak Takraw, Wushu, and Pencak Silat. Adding to the proud history of Montalban, Rizal, Frames of Mind School became the first in Montalban to win several international awards in Robotics and Innovation, a milestone that highlighted the ingenuity and global competitiveness of its learners.
It also made history by being the first to introduce an Archery Team (2023) that reached the Palarong Pambansa, and a Gymnastics Team (2025) that competed in the Provincial Meet — further proving that excellence at Frames of Mind School extends far beyond the classroom. The school is a proud member of ROPRISA, RIPRISA, NAPSPHIL, MSAA, ASMEPS, Batang Henyo International, ICE, RPGP, and Erovotika, among other national and international organizations that strengthen its network and advocacy for educational excellence.
Throughout its journey, Frames of Mind School has remained deeply rooted in service and compassion. It continues to open its doors to deserving scholars, giving hope to children who dream of completing their education despite financial challenges. Each December and February, through its outreach and foundation programs, the school extends blessings to the less fortunate — teaching its learners that true education is not only about success, but about service, empathy, and gratitude. Even in times of calamity, Frames of Mind School remains steadfast in its social responsibility, offering help and hope to the community it calls home. Its students, teachers, and administrators have earned numerous awards and recognitions — from municipal to international levels — in academics, robotics, sports, and the arts. These victories are not just medals of success but reflections of the school’s enduring spirit of excellence, teamwork, and faith.
When the world faced the unprecedented challenges of the 2020 pandemic, Frames of Mind School responded with courage and innovation. It swiftly transitioned to online and blended learning, ensuring that education continued for every child.
